We have just put some new corsages and boutonnieres on our website, and just in time for prom too! By the way, these are MoonFlower exclusive designs, and you won’t find them anywhere else.
Here’s one of our new corsages on the left, featuring beautiful and exotic mokara orchids. It comes with a copper bracelet, and can be worn on your wrist or arm.
And you guys out there, don’t feel left out, because there’s a matching boutonniere too. In fact, MoonFlower Florist has several sets of matching corsages and boutonnieres.
You can see it all in the “Contemporary” category on our website in Formal and Event Flowers.
Finally! Our Orchid Bowl arrangement is now available to order online.
These small but stylish beauties have been an in-store best seller since we started making them shortly after opening back in 2006.
We’ve had them bought to be used as office arrangements, get well wishes for hospital patients and even as centrepieces for a local prom.
They’re also easy to take care of. Cymbidium orchids have incredible staying power and this arrangement requires no more than a top-up of water.
Find it in our MoonFlower Exclusives and Orchids sections.

A recent survey by Wedding Bells magazine found that less than 10% of Canadian brides are plannning to slash their wedding budget during these gloomy economic times. David’s Bridal did a similar survey in the U.S. and found that 25% of brides were cutting back.
No matter the economic state, it’s always a good time to save a little cash where you can. Some brides have opted to take the DIY (do-it-yourself) route to make this happen.
But from the bridal party to the centerpieces, filling your own floral needs will take some extra time and effort, so here’s some advice to keep things running smoothly.

A stunning orchid bowl with wire accent.
Keep it simpleAs much as Martha Stewart says you can make arrangements like hers, unless you are a trained florist, you probably can’t. But this, as Martha says, is a good thing.
Skip the huge arrangements and go for simple. Understated is always chic. Think glass bowls with river rock and a single orchid or bud vases with a few bright gerbera daisies for centerpieces, or a few hand-tied calla lilies for your bouquet. These are quick to make on the spot, require little design know-how and always look classy.
Befriend a florist
Just because you are not hiring a florist to make your arrangements doesn’t mean they aren’t a wonderful resource when going DIY. Call up a local florist and see if they will spend an hour or so with you teaching you how to make a simple centerpiece and bouquets. They will charge you for their time and materials, but you’re still going to be saving plenty of money in the long run.
